In the Austin companion thered is some confusion about the toe-in setting.
I have it setup now as parallel - or very slight toe in - say 1/16"
(difficult to measure!)
Does this sound OK?

Mike,
I would set it at about 1/8" toe-in, then keep monitoring the front
tyres for wear. If you can feel any feathering on the tread, adjust
the toe-in accordingly.

I have found an easy wasy of doing alignment for my limited driving of
my MG TC , I have a shiny painted garage floor available so I just take
it out of gear and push it across the floor forward and listen to the
tires. If they both squeak as the car rolls, then I adjust the
steering arm for the toe in until I hear no sound. Then the car goes
and handles nicely. Sometimes it may be only one wheel squeaks. Try a
long straight board parallel to the tires on each side to check
tracking. That helps get you started if you haven't done a rough
align. I know some "toe in" is right. Try that after you get a good
tracking without squeak.
You see I am NOT PUSHING MY 52 YEAR OLD CAR TO THE LIMIT
